Tips to get the optimal Beaufort, NC rental home experience:

Money saving strategies:

  • To find the best value, consider changing your family's Beaufort, NC vacation week to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer pleasant temperatures, , and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Beaufort, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • The sooner you can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The best properties are reserved early. Booking your rental six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
  • Some owners offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Booking websites often offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Beaufort, NC area visitor guide magazines which often include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Planning and choosing the bestrental home:

  • To start, have your group commit to dates and a spending budget.
  • Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Boho Bungalow has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually available online. If they are not listed, contact the property manager before you book the property. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • Is your group looking for particular amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking.
  • Some properties allow pets, but some don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask your host about your furry family members before booking.

During your stay:

  • Be sure you get the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property.
  • Make a record of any issues with the rental during check in, and immediately send them to the host. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are beneficial if a dispute arises.
  • Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often an excellent resource to find the best local spots.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can often help. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Lock your vacation home while you are away. Keep your property safe!
  • Double-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items on check-out day. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your group have a fantastic stay? Many rental home management companies make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or host was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
