Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Some owners offer special rates for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your group.
  • Booking websites typically offer renters an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.

Have a fantastic stay:

  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, television set or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent a lot of issues.
  • Lock your rental home while you're out and about. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
  • To ensure that damages are not attributed to your visit, record any problem areas upon your arrival. E-mail the rental manager right away to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Respect the neighborhood. Frequently, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually help. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected everything. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the host is not available, remember to take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Hosts rely on good reviews to compel more reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
