How to get the best Emerald Isle vacation home experience:

Finding your perfect vacation home:

  • In the Beaufort, NC area, The earlier your group can book, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked very early. Reserving your vacation home six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
  • Summer time is high season in the Beaufort, NC area. Reserve your rental in Fall or Spring months to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Many management companies supply Beaufort, NC area visitors guides which will include special deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Planning and choosing the best Beaufort, NC rental home:

  • Begin by selecting your trip dates and a budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. Family & Dog Friendly Oceanfront has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is usually accessible online. If they are not listed, email or call the property owner before booking the rental. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • Some properties allow pets, and others don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
  • If there's a particular Beaufort, NC destination you long to visit, keep an eye out for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

Tips for your stay:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Add a note with the directions to your phone, and take a printed backup.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, elevator or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent quite a few problems.
  • Lock your rental while you are out and about. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • To ensure that no damages are linked to your visit, inspect the property for any problem areas upon your arrival. Speak to the property manager immediately to document any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Respect the neighborhood. Often times, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • At departure, take a walk-through to confirm you have not forget any personal items. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and scan for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take video of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a terrific stay? Most rental managers make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your property and/or property management company was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
