How to book the best rental experience:

Finding the best rental value:

  • To get the best vacation home for your budget, we highly recommend booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at the beach and popular Beaufort, NC attractions. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer.
  • In the Beaufort, NC area, The earlier your group can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved very early. Reserving your rental home six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
  • Property managers sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
  • Property managers often offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local Beaufort, NC visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, visitor guide magazines contain deals for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Selecting the best rental home:

  • Begin by selecting vacation dates and a budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your group requires. Family & Dog Friendly Oceanfront has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is usually available on booking websites. Otherwise, call the property manager before you book the vacation home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds. You'll need to determine what configuration is optimal for your trip.
  • If there's an individual Beaufort, NC beach you are enamored with, search for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
  • Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Pet fees or charges might be applied to your agreement.

Know before you go:

  • Add the owner's phone number to your phone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • To ensure that damages aren't attributed to your family's stay, make note of any problem areas upon your arrival. Speak to the property manager right away to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, television set or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call prevents quite a few issues.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers disrupting your peace. Use the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and attractions you would've never otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are out, just like you would at home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the property to make sure you've collected all belongings. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Property owners rely on excellent feedback to drive future bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will appreciate that you share your review and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
