Tips and Tricks to get the perfect vacation rental experience:

Money saving strategies:

  • Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • To get the best value, change your family's Beaufort, NC trip dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer warmer weather, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your family.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Find a copy of your local Beaufort, NC visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitor guides contain offers and deals for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.

Narrow your rental Search:

  • Start by having your family commit to the best dates and a spending budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Soundside Sunset-Gorgeous Soundfront Condo has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Beaufort, NC vacation rental search.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is often accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, contact the host before reserving the home. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches.
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, you must reserve a property that allows animals. Request specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Often, hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
  • If there's a specific Beaufort, NC destination you long to visit, look for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking.

More considerations:

  • Add the owner's contact info to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Lock your rental while you're away. Protect your property!
  • Upon arrival, document any damages to the property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a terrific resource to find the best local spots.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Re-check the property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items at departure. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Hosts rely on excellent ratings to inspire future reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your feedback find their best vacation home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
