Getting the best vacation home experience:

Getting the best rental home value:

  • June, July, and August are high season in Atlantic Beach. To get the best rental for your budget, we highly recommend booking in Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Beaufort, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer special rates for veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Booking websites usually offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, visitor guides have discounts for local accommodations, tours and attractions.

Advice for a wonderful stay:

  • Get the host's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your .
  • Make a record of any issues with the property at check in, and immediately contact the owner. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be very helpful if a dispute is filed.
  • Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors bothering your life at home. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and places you would've never otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently help. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home when you are away, just like you would at home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected everything. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the rental one final time and scan for damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, take photographs of the property to record its condition.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Property owners rely on excellent reviews to propel new reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
