Rental property booking tips and tricks:

When to go & When to reserve a Beaufort, NC rental home:

  • Book your rental home in Fall or Spring months to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer.
  • The earlier your group can book, the better your selection will be. The best properties are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation home six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
  • Property managers often offer customers an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Often, rental management companies supply Beaufort, NC area travel guide magazines which include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, NC visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • First and foremost, have your family agree to vacation dates and a budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. License to Chill - Atlantic Beach, ~NC~ has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly available on booking pages. If not, contact the property manager before you book your home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches. You'll need to establish what configuration is optimal for your vacation.
  • Looking for particular amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • Some properties allow pets, and some don't. Acceptable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask your host about your furry family members before booking.

Additional considerations:

  • Add the property manager's phone number to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Make a record of any issues with the rental upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be helpful if damages are assessed.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent lots of issues.
  • Be respectful. Often, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Lock your rental property while you are gone! Don't let thieves ruin your trip.
  • At departure, complete a final walk-through to confirm you didn't forget anything. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Hosts rely on excellent ratings to stimulate more reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
