Tips to get the optimal rental experience:

How to get the best rental home value:

  • Summer time is high season in New Bern. Booking your Beaufort, NC vacation home in Spring or Fall is our favorite way to save money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Beaufort, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some property managers offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your group.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Beaufort, NC area visitors guide magazines which often include special deals, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Filter your rental search:

  • First, have your group decide on date ranges and a spending budget.
  • Note the number beds and the bed configuration your family needs. Lovely 1 BR with King bed Apt 2 has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts is almost always accessible online. Otherwise, call the host before booking the vacation home. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches. You'll need to work out what configuration is suitable for your vacation group.
  • Is your group looking for specific amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking.
  • Some rentals allow pets, and others do not. Allowable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable pet guidelines before booking.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your .
  • To make sure damages aren't linked to your family's visit, make a record of any problem areas upon check in. message the rental manager immediately to document any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are a fantastic resource to find the best local beaches and hangouts.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Lock your rental home while you are away. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
  • When it's time to leave, complete a final walk-through to make sure you did not forget anything. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, take photos of the property to record its condition.
  • Did you have a excellent time? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or host was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
