Finding the best Beaufort, NC vacation home experience:
How to get the best rental home value:
- In the Beaufort, NC area, The earlier you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved very early. Booking your rental 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
- Summertime is the most expensive season in Beaufort. Booking your Beaufort, NC vacation home in the Fall or Spring is a great way to save on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Property managers often offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
- Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Beaufort, NC area visitors guide magazines which often include special offers, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, NC area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Finding the perfect rental home in Beaufort:
- First, have your group commit to vacation dates and a max budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Lighthouse Cottage DOG FRIENDLY -Historic District has 1 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is normally accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, email the property manager before reserving the property. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Pet fees or charges may be applied to your agreement.
- If there's a certain Beaufort, NC attraction you crave, keep an eye out for homes that are either close by, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
More considerations for your visit:
- Take a copy of the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents lots of concerns.
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the property while you are away, just like you would at home.
- Upon check-in, note any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
- Be respectful. Often times, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Re-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed all belongings at check-out. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a wonderful time? Most rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your property and/or property manager was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
