Getting the best Beaufort rental home experience:

Sticking to a rental budget:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal NC. To get the largest rental home within your budget, we highly recommend booking in Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at popular attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Beaufort, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rental homes during holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your group.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local Beaufort, NC visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, visitor guide magazines have discounts for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.

Planning and choosing a perfect Beaufort, NC rental:

  • Begin by selecting a vacation week and a max budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Lighthouse Cottage DOG FRIENDLY -Historic District has 1 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed types is commonly available online. If you don't see them listed, contact the host before booking the vacation home. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to work out what is right for your vacation group.
  • Are you visiting for a single event or attraction? Use a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional pet fees or applied to your invoice.

Have a wonderful stay:

  • Get the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental.
  • Make a record of any damages to the property at check in, and immediately contact the owner. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be valuable if damages are assessed.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, intercom or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent quite a few issues.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a great source for finding the best local beaches and hangouts.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Keep your rental home locked while you're out! Don't let thieves spoil your family vacation.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected everything. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the rental a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Property owners rely on good feedback to drive new bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will will be grateful for your experience find their best vacation rental. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
