Tricks and tips for getting the best Beaufort, NC vacation rental experience:

Find your best deal:

  • The sooner your group can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved very early. Reserving your rental 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
  • Summertime is the most expensive season in coastal NC. To find the largest rental within your budget, we suggest reserving in the Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities.
  • Hosts sometimes offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
  • Booking websites frequently offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guide magazines contain coupons for nearby accommodations and attractions.

Filter your search:

  • Choose vacation dates and maximum budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration you need. Magnolia Moon, Oceanfront House in Emerald Isle, NC! has 12 bedrooms and 11 bathrooms.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, email the property management company before booking the home. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • If your family is bringing pets, you must book a property that allows animals. Make sure to ask for details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property owners charge additional pet fees.
  • Visiting for a single event? If so, use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

More tips for your visit:

  • Get the owner's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property. Put the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the rental when you are away, just like you would back home.
  • Document any issues with the property at check in, and immediately contact the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be very helpful if a dispute arises.
  • Respect your neighbors. Often, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Re-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items on check-out day. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a wonderful stay? Most rental home management companies make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your rental and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
