Tips and Tricks to get the very best Beaufort, NC rental experience:
When to book a Beaufort, NC rental & When to go:
- Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are high season in the Beaufort, NC area. To get the best value, shift your family's Beaufort, NC vacation to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer warm weather, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Property management companies typically offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Find a copy of your local Beaufort, NC visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guides contain coupons for nearby tours and attractions.
Selecting and booking yourrental home:
- Begin by selecting your vacation dates and a maximum budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration you need. Spacious Loft on Middle Lane in Historic Downtown Beaufort has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Beaufort, NC rentals search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is usually available online. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property owner before reserving the vacation home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly property. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Usually, property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
- Are you visiting for a specific event or attraction? Use a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
More considerations:
- Add the owner's contact information to your phone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, elevator or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent a lot of problems.
- Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are out, just like you would at home.
- At Check-in, note any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the owner. Record all coorespondence.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers bothering your quiet neighborhood. Practice the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and places you would have not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected everything. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental one final time and look for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the manager is not available, remember to take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- Leave feedback! Hosts rely on great feedback to compel future bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
