Tips to get the perfect Emerald Isle rental home experience:

Find your perfect vacation home:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal NC. To book the most suitable rental home within your budget, we suggest reserving in the Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities.
  • Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some property managers offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if discounts are available for your family.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Look for your local Beaufort, NC visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guides contain discounts for local accommodations, tours and attractions.

Finding the best vacation rental in the Beaufort, NC area:

  • Choose a designated group leader, choose your vacation week, and choose a budget.
  • Note the number beds and the configuration you need. Nina Street House, Oceanside House in Emerald Isle, NC! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is often available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property manager before reserving the property. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • If there's a particular Beaufort, NC attraction you love, keep an eye out for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • Some rentals allow pets, and some do not. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the property manager about your furry family members before booking.

More considerations:

  • Get the property manager's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental.
  • Note any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be beneficial if damages are assessed.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent lots of difficulties.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors disrupting your peaceful home. Practice the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and attractions you would have never otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home when you are away, just like you would at home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all of your things. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Walk through the property a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a fantastic vacation? Many rental management companies make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental and/or host was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
