Tricks and tips for getting the best vacation rental experience:

When to visit Emerald Isle & When to reserve a Beaufort, NC rental home:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. To get the best value, try changing your family's Beaufort, NC vacation week to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer pleasant temperatures, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Beaufort, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • The sooner your group can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best properties are reserved early. Reserving your vacation home six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
  • Owners sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Many management companies supply Beaufort, NC area visitor guide magazines that include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers disrupting your quiet neighborhood. Use the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and attractions you would've not otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can typically help. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Keep your rental home locked while you're gone! Don't let burglars ruin your vacation.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the property to make sure you've collected all personal belongings. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your family have a terrific time? Most rental management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your rental and/or host was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
