Finding the best New Bern rental home experience:

Sticking to your spending plan:

  • Booking in Fall or Spring months is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Beaufort, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some owners offer rate reductions for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family.
  • Property management companies often offer their guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Many rental management companies supply Beaufort, NC area travel guides which often include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, NC area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Choosing and booking your Beaufort, NC rental:

  • Select a group lead, choose your vacation week, and select a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. Our Getaway Two has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is generally accessible online. If not, contact the host before you reserve your rental. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • Visiting for a single attraction? Use a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly vacation rental. Ask for details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Often, property owners charge additional pet fees.

During your stay:

  • Put the manager's information in your smartphone.
  • Document any damages to the property at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be helpful if there is a dispute.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent many problems.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors disrupting your peaceful home. Use the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would've never otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Protect the property owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are out, just like you would back home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all personal items. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the property one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, take photos and video of the property to record its condition.
  • Did you have a excellent stay? Many rental managers make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
