Finding the best vacation rental experience:

When to reserve a Beaufort, NC rental home & When to go:

  • The sooner you can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are booked early. Booking your vacation rental six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Emerald Isle. To get the best value, shift your group's vacation to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer excellent weather, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season.
  • Some owners offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Find a copy of your local Beaufort, NC visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guide magazines contain money saving offers on local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Narrow your rental Search:

  • Start by choosing your the best vacation week and a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. Page One, Almost Oceanfront House in Emerald Isle, NC! has 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, contact the property manager before you reserve the vacation property. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or costs could be applied to your contract.
  • Is your family looking for unique amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the best rental.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental

Additional considerations:

  • Be sure you get the owner's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental. We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, elevator or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call prevents quite a few concerns.
  • Keep the property locked while you're gone! Don't let burglars ruin your trip.
  • Note any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be useful if there is a dispute.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a fantastic source for finding the best local beaches.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the property to confirm you've collected all personal belongings. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did you have a wonderful vacation? Most rental home management companies make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property management company was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
