Tricks and tips for getting the best Beaufort, NC vacation property experience:

How to get the best rental value:

  • Summer months are high season in Emerald Isle. Reserve your Beaufort, NC rental in Spring or Fall to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
  • Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during Winter holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
  • Find a copy of your local Beaufort, NC visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guides have discounts for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.

How to select the best vacation home:

  • First, have your group commit to trip dates and a spending budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Pebble Beach G-212, Oceanside Condo in Emerald Isle, NC! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Beaufort, NC rental home search.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is often available online. If not, contact the host before you book the vacation property. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to determine what configuration is right for your vacation group.
  • Is your group looking for unique amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • If your family is bringing pets, you must reserve a property that allows animals. Make sure to ask for information on breed, size, and type requirements. Be aware that some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.

More considerations:

  • Be sure you get the host's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home.
  • To make sure that no damages are linked to your stay, inspect the property for any problem areas upon check in. Make contact with the host right away to record any damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, television set or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent lots of difficulties.
  • Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules is the right thing to do.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Keep your rental home locked while you are gone! Don't let crooks spoil your trip.
  • Double-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings at departure. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did you have a fantastic time? Many rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
