Strategies to get the best Beaufort, NC vacation home experience:

Finding the best rental value:

  • To get the best rental home within budget, we strongly suggest reserving in Fall or Spring months. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer.
  • The sooner you can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved early. Reserving your rental property 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
  • Property managers sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
  • Property management companies typically offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Find a copy of your local Beaufort, NC area magazine upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, visitor guide magazines contain deals for nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Make a plan and choose the rightvacation home:

  • Select a group lead, select your vacation week, and select a spending budget.
  • Note the number beds and the bed configuration your group requires. Rita's Restful Oceanview has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts is almost always available on booking pages. If they are not listed, email the property owner before booking the rental. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • If there's an individual Beaufort, NC attraction you crave, browse properties that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental
  • If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly property. Request information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.

Know before you go:

  • Be sure you get the owner's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your . Put the host's contact information in your smartphone.
  • To make certain that no damages are attributed to your family's stay, record any problem areas during check in. E-mail the rental manager right away to report your findings. If there is a dispute, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, stereo or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call prevents a lot of problems.
  • Be respectful. Often, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home while you are out, just like you would back home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all of your things. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Remember to leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent reviews to compel new bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
