Tricks and tips to get the very best rental experience:

Getting the most from your rental budget:

  • June, July, and August are high season in Beaufort. To find the best value, try changing your vacation to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer warmer weather, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
  • In the Beaufort, NC area, The sooner your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked very early. Booking your rental property six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
  • Some hosts offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Beaufort, NC area visitor guides which will include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, NC visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Make a plan and choose the bestrental home:

  • Choose a group leader, choose your vacation dates, and choose a max budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the configuration your family requires. SCUBA diving lodge in Beaufort! Free wifi and Cable TV has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, call the property management company before reserving the vacation property. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to determine which bed configuration is right for your family.
  • Looking for particular amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the best rental.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, but others do not. Acceptable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the host about allowable pet guidelines before booking.

Additional considerations:

  • Get the host's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental. We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • To make sure damages are not linked to your family's stay, make note of any problem areas during check in. Call the property manager immediately to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Frequently, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules is the right thing to do.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can typically help. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Protect the property owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are out, just like you would back home.
  • Re-check every room of the property to make sure that you've packed all belongings on check-out day. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your family have a fantastic vacation? Most rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property management company was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
