Tricks and tips to get the very best rental home experience:

Cost saving strategies:

  • The earlier your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best properties are booked very early. Booking your vacation home six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
  • Summer time is high season in the Beaufort, NC area. Reserve your Beaufort, NC vacation in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Beaufort, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • Some hosts offer discounts for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family.
  • Property management companies usually offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Many management companies supply Beaufort, NC area visitors guides that include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Choosing and booking the rightvacation home:

  • Choose vacation week and max budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Classic Ocean Front 4BR Duplex - near Bogue Inlet Pier! has 4 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Beaufort, NC rental home search.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts is regularly available on booking websites. If they are not listed, contact the property owner before reserving the vacation property. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to determine what bed configuration is right for your vacation group.
  • Some properties allow pets, and others do not. Allowable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the property management company about allowable breeds and types before booking.
  • Does your family require particular amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. .

Considerations for your stay:

  • Add the host's contact information to your phone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Lock your vacation home while you are out and about. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
  • Make a record of any issues with the rental at check in, and immediately send them to the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are beneficial if there is a dispute.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors disrupting your peaceful neighborhood. Apply the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and places you would've not otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • When it's time to leave, complete a walk-through to confirm you didn't forget any personal items. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the property one final time and scan for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, ensure that you take photos of the rental to record its condition.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on good ratings to compel more reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
