Tips and Tricks to get the very best vacation property experience:

Get the most from your spending budget:

  • Summer is the most expensive season in Pine Knoll Shores. To find the best value, consider changing your family's Beaufort, NC trip dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer warm weather, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August.
  • The earlier you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are booked early. Reserving your vacation property 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your group qualifies for a discount.
  • Booking websites frequently offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Beaufort, NC area travel guide magazines which often include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, NC visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Selecting the best vacation rental in Pine Knoll Shores:

  • Select a designated group leader, choose your vacation dates, and select a spending budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Surf\/Break, Soundside House in Pine Knoll Shores, NC! has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed types is generally available on booking websites. If they are not listed, contact the property owner before you book the property. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • If there's a particular Beaufort, NC destination you simply love, look for properties that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. .
  • If your group is traveling with pets, search for a rental that allows animals. Get specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Note that some property managers charge additional pet fees.

More tips for your visit:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Add a note with the directions to your phone, and take a printed backup.
  • Make a record of any damages to the property during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be very helpful if there is a dispute.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents a lot of issues.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors bothering your peaceful home life. Use the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and places you would have never otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home when you are away, just like you would at home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all personal belongings. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever possible. If the host isn't available, take video of the property to record its condition.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Hosts rely on excellent ratings to compel new bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
