Tips and Tricks to get the best Beaufort, NC vacation home experience:

Cost saving strategies:

  • The earlier you can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best properties are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation property up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
  • To get the best value, consider changing your group's trip dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer great temperatures, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic.
  • Some property management companies offer promotional rates for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family.
  • Booking websites usually offer renters an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Find a copy of your local Beaufort, NC visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, visitors guides have discounts for local tours, shops, and attractions.

How to pick the perfect rental home:

  • To start, have your group commit to vacation dates and a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. Newly renovated condo, indoor & outdoor pools, 3min walk from beach! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Beaufort, NC vacation rental search.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, call the property owner before you book your home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds. You'll need to establish what is best for your vacation.
  • Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or charges may be applied to your invoice.
  • Visiting for a single attraction? Use a map search to find nearby rentals.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .

Some things to know before you go:

  • Take a copy of the owner's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home. Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, stereo or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call prevents a lot of issues.
  • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home when you are away, just like you would back home.
  • At Check-in, make note of any damages to the property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often an excellent resource to find the best local beaches.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Double-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items at check-out. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, remember to take photos and video of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a wonderful vacation? Many rental managers make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
