Tricks and tips to get the very best vacation property experience:

Cost saving strategies:

  • Summer months are the most expensive season in Atlantic Beach. To get the most suitable rental home within your budget, we highly recommend reserving in Fall or Spring months. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular Beaufort, NC attractions.
  • Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your group qualifies for a special rate.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Look for your local Beaufort, NC visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, travel guides have money saving offers on nearby tours, shops, and attractions.

Use filters to narrow your rental search:

  • Select vacation week and max budget.
  • Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. The Coastal Escape, Oceanfront House in Atlantic Beach, NC! has 6 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally accessible on booking pages. If not, contact the property manager before you book the property. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • Visiting for a specific event? Try a map search to find nearby rentals.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental.
  • Some rentals allow pets, but others do not. Acceptable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the owner about pets before booking.

Advice for a smooth stay:

  • Get the owner's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental. Put the manager's information in your smartphone.
  • To make certain damages aren't linked to your family's visit, record any problem areas when you arrive. Get in touch with the rental manager immediately to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, television set or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call prevents lots of difficulties.
  • Respect your neighbors. Often, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Lock your vacation home while you are out and about. Protect your property!
  • Upon check-out, take a walk-through to confirm you haven't leave anything behind. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Remember to leave a review! Property managers rely on good reviews to compel future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
