  • June, July, and August are high season in the Beaufort, NC area. Booking in the Fall or Spring is one of our best tips for saving money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable properties.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Booking websites frequently offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Beaufort, NC area travel guide magazines which will include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. • Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, call the property owner before you book the home. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly rental. Get information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Be aware that some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • Visiting for a single event? Try a map search to browse nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

Advice for a wonderful stay:

  • Add the owner's contact information to your phone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents many problems.
  • Lock your rental home while you're out and about. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • During arrival, make note of any damages to the property and immediately contact the property manager. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often times, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Double-check the property to make sure that you've packed everything at departure. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the property one final time and scan for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent ratings to propel more bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will will be grateful for your experience find their best rental home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
