Tricks and tips for getting the best Emerald Isle rental home experience:

When to book & When to go:

  • The sooner your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved early. Reserving your vacation property 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
  • Summertime is the most expensive season in Emerald Isle. To book the most suitable rental within budget, we recommend booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at Beaufort, NC restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Booking websites typically offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Many management companies supply Beaufort, NC area visitor guide magazines which often include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, NC visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Selecting the perfect vacation home in the Beaufort, NC area:

  • Choose a designated group leader, select your vacation week, and select a spending budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. 2 BR steps from beach access, dog-friendly NO FEE! has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, contact the host before reserving the rental. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to establish what bed configuration is optimal for your family.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, but others do not. Allowable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the owner about allowable breeds and types before booking.
  • If there's a certain Beaufort, NC destination you simply love, browse properties that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.

Know before you go:

  • Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your .
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Lock your rental property while you are out! Don't let thieves spoil your family vacation.
  • Note any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately send them to the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be beneficial if damages are assessed.
  • Be a good neighbor. Frequently, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all personal items. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the property one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, remember to take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a excellent time? Most rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property manager was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
