Strategies to get the optimal rental home experience:

How to get the best value:

  • To get the best value, change your family's Beaufort, NC vacation dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer warm temperatures, , and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Beaufort, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • The earlier your group can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved very early. Booking your vacation home six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if discounts are available for your family.
  • Booking websites usually offer guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Beaufort, NC area travel guides that include special offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, NC area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Use filters to narrow your rental search:

  • Choose a designated group leader, select your vacation week, and choose a max budget.
  • Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. The Hideaway Suite** has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is often accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, call the host before you reserve the property. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to work out which bed configuration is right for your trip.
  • If there's a particular Beaufort, NC destination you crave, search for properties that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. .
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, filter your search for a rental that allows animals. Request information on breed, size, and type requirements. Some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.

Advice for a wonderful stay:

  • Take a copy of the owner's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home.
  • To make sure damages aren't attributed to your family's stay, make a record of any problem areas during arrival. Speak to the host immediately to report any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, television set or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent quite a few problems.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an incredible resource to find the best local beaches and restaurants.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Lock your rental while you're out. Protect your property!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected everything. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the property one final time and scan for any damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, take pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • Did you have a terrific time? Most rental home management companies make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental and/or host was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
