Our top Rental booking tips:

Money saving strategies:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. Booking your Beaufort, NC vacation home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable properties. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Beaufort, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your group qualifies for a special rate.
  • Booking websites typically offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Many rental management companies supply Beaufort, NC area travel guide magazines which will include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, NC visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • First, have your group choose a vacation week and a maximum budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. The Hideaway Suite** has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property owner before reserving the property. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to establish what configuration is optimal for your vacation family.
  • Are you looking for unique amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
  • Some rentals allow pets, but others do not. Allowable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the owner about allowable pet guidelines before booking.

Advice for a smooth stay:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the instructions to your phone.
  • Upon arrival, note any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, television set or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents quite a few concerns.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors bothering your peace. Use the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and attractions you would've never otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Keep the property locked while you are out! Don't let burglars ruin your trip.
  • Re-check the property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings on check-out day. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the property one final time and look for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the host is not available, take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a wonderful stay? Many rental management companies make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
