Strategies to get the best rental experience:

Finding the best rental value:

  • Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Emerald Isle. Booking your Beaufort, NC vacation home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is a great way to save on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local Beaufort, NC visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guides contain offers and deals for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.

Choosing and booking the best Beaufort, NC rental home:

  • Start by having your family decide on vacation dates and a max budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Peace of the Beach Unit B King size has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is often accessible online. Otherwise, email the host before reserving the vacation home. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to work out what is optimal for your vacation group.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, and others do not. Allowable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the owner about allowable breeds and types before booking.
  • Visiting for a single event or attraction? Use a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental.

Tips for your stay:

  • Be sure you get the owner's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property. Store the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Lock your rental home while you're out. Protect your property!
  • To make certain that no damages are attributed to your visit, inspect for any problem areas upon your arrival. text the rental manager immediately to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers disrupting your quiet neighborhood. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • At departure, complete a walk-through to confirm you didn't forget anything. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take photos and video of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a terrific stay? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property management company was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
