Tips and Tricks to get the perfect vacation property experience:

Sticking to a rental budget:

  • To find the best value, consider changing your family's Beaufort, NC trip dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer pleasant temperatures, , and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
  • In the Beaufort, NC area, The earlier you can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked early. Booking your vacation rental 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your family qualifies for a discount.
  • Property management companies frequently offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
  • Many property management companies supply Beaufort, NC area travel guides that include special offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Narrow your rental Search:

  • First, have your group agree to date ranges and a budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your group needs. UPDATED KITCHEN - AMAZING VIEWS has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually accessible on booking websites. If not, call the property owner before reserving the rental. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • Looking for special amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the best rental home.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. .
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly rental. Get details on breed, size, and type requirements. Note that some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.

Tips for a great stay:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the instructions to your smartphone.
  • Document any issues with the rental during check in, and immediately contact the owner. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are useful if there is a dispute.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, elevator or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents many difficulties.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be an excellent source for finding the best local beaches and hangouts.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Keep the property locked while you are away! Don't let crooks ruin your holiday.
  • Double-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed everything at departure. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on good ratings to stimulate more reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
