Our top Vacation rental booking tips and tricks:

When to reserve a Beaufort, NC rental & When to go:

  • Summer is high season in the Beaufort, NC area. To find the best value, shift your family's Beaufort, NC trip dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer warmer weather, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer.
  • The earlier you can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are booked early. Booking your vacation property 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group.
  • Property managers frequently offer customers an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
  • Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Beaufort, NC area visitors guide magazines which include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, NC visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Use filters to narrow your search:

  • First and foremost, have your family agree to vacation dates and a spending budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Blue Bungalow, Soundside House in Pine Knoll Shores in NC! has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is commonly accessible on booking websites. If not, contact the host before booking your home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to establish what is optimal for your group.
  • If there's a specific Beaufort, NC destination you simply love, keep an eye out for homes that are either near by, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking.
  • If your group is bringing pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly property. Make sure to ask for information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the instructions to your phone.
  • To make certain no damages are linked to your visit, record any problem areas when you arrive. text the host immediately to relay any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Respect the neighborhood. Often, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Lock your vacation home while you are away. Keep your property safe!
  • Re-check the property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings on check-out day. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did you have a great time? Many rental management companies make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or host was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
