Tips to get the optimal Beaufort, NC vacation home experience:

When to visit Beaufort & When to reserve a rental home:

  • Reserve your Beaufort, NC rental in Fall or Spring to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
  • Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family.
  • Booking websites frequently offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
  • Look for your local Beaufort, NC area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guides have coupons for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Planning and choosing the best Beaufort, NC vacation home:

  • Start by choosing your potential vacation weeks and a budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the bed configuration you need. Speight House, Soundfront House in Historical Beaufort, NC! has 5 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always available online. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property management company before you reserve the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches. You'll need to determine what configuration is optimal for your group.
  • If there's a certain Beaufort, NC attraction you simply love, browse homes that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking.
  • Some properties allow pets, and some don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the host about pet restrictions before booking.

Tips for a smooth stay:

  • Put the manager's information in your smartphone.
  • At Check-in, record any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the host. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Be respectful of your neighbors. Often times, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Lock your vacation home while you're out. Protect your property!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all belongings. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the property a final time and scan for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a great stay? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property management company was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
