Tips and Tricks to get the best rental home experience:

Sticking to a rental home budget:

  • Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • To find the best value, shift your family's Beaufort, NC trip dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer warm temperatures, , and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Beaufort, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Some property management companies offer promotional rates for veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer customers an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Look for your local Beaufort, NC area magazine when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitor guides contain offers and deals for local accommodations, tours and attractions.

Planning, selecting, and booking a perfectrental home:

  • To start, have your family choose vacation dates and a budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Cozy Beaufort Home with Hot Tub and Boat Driveway has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed types is normally accessible on booking pages. If not, contact the property manager before you book the property. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds. You'll need to determine which bed configuration is suitable for your family.
  • Some properties allow pets, but others don't. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the property management company about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
  • If there's a particular Beaufort, NC destination you simply love, look for homes that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. .

Advice for a terrific stay:

  • Store the owner's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent quite a few problems.
  • Keep the property locked while you're out! Don't let thieves spoil your holiday.
  • Record any issues with the property upon arrival, and immediately contact the host. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are useful if there is a dispute.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often an incredible resource to find the best local attractions.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Double-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings on check-out day. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your family have a excellent stay? Many rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property management company was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
