Tricks and tips for getting the perfect rental home experience:

Get the best value:

  • Summer is the most expensive season in the Beaufort, NC area. Booking in Fall or Spring months is a great way to save money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season.
  • Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during Winter holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some property managers offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your group.
  • Property managers typically offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Look for your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guide magazines have coupons for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.

Make a plan and choose a perfect Beaufort, NC vacation home:

  • Select a group lead, choose your vacation week, and choose a max budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your family needs. Wide, Sandy Beaches Await You! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is often available online. If they are not listed, call the property owner before reserving the home. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches. You will need to determine which bed configuration is right for your vacation group.
  • Are you looking for unique amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. .
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly property. Ask for details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Note that some property managers charge additional pet fees.

More considerations:

  • Take a copy of the property manager's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your . Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Upon check-in, note any issues with the property and immediately alert the host. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent a lot of concerns.
  • Be respectful. Often, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Keep the property locked while you're gone! Don't let burglars ruin your vacation.
  • Just before checking out, take a walk-through to confirm you have not forget anything. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Leave a review! Hosts rely on great reviews to inspire new reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
