Tips and Tricks for getting the perfect New Bern vacation home experience:

Finding your best deal:

  • Summer is the most expensive season along the coast of NC. Reserve your Beaufort, NC vacation in Fall or Spring months to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer.
  • In the Beaufort, NC area, The sooner you can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are booked early. Booking your vacation home six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Property management companies typically offer customers an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Beaufort, NC area visitors guides which will include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, NC visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

How to pick the best rental home in New Bern:

  • Select a group leader, choose your dates, and choose a max budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Boat Dock! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is normally available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property manager before booking the home. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches. You'll need to work out what is suitable for your trip.
  • Looking for unique amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, you must book a pet-friendly vacation rental. Make sure to ask for information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property owners charge additional pet fees.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Add the property manager's phone number to your phone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • To make sure that damages aren't linked to your stay, record any problem areas upon your arrival. Make contact with the rental manager immediately to record any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, television set or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent many issues.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a fantastic source for finding the best local beaches and restaurants.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home when you are away, just like you would back home.
  • Double-check the property to make sure that you've packed everything on check-out day. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property a final time and scan for any damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • Did you have a great time? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or host was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
