How to get the best Beaufort, NC vacation property experience:

Get the most from your budget:

  • The sooner your group can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best properties are booked early. Reserving your vacation rental up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
  • Reserving a rental home in the Spring or Fall is an excellent way to save on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer.
  • Property managers sometimes offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your group.
  • Booking websites often offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Beaufort, NC area visitors guide magazines that include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, NC visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Choose a group leader, choose your dates, and choose a max budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Spotless, comfortable and safe. Great location with excellent kitchen + backyard has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always available online. If they are not listed, reach out to the host before you reserve your rental. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to work out what configuration is optimal for your family.
  • Some properties allow pets, and others don't. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the property management company about pet restrictions before booking.
  • Visiting for a single event? Try a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. .

Have a wonderful stay:

  • Add the host's contact info to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, intercom or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents lots of issues.
  • Lock your rental home while you are away. Keep your property safe!
  • Note any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately send them to the host. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be beneficial if there is a dispute.
  • Be a good neighbor. Often, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Just before checking out, complete a walk-through to make sure you haven't forget anything. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the rental a final time and look for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, take photos of the rental to record its condition.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Hosts rely on great ratings to drive new reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
