Strategies to get the perfect vacation rental experience:

Cost saving strategies:

  • Summer is high season in the Beaufort, NC area. To book the most suitable vacation home within your budget, we highly recommend reserving in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at Beaufort, NC restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Beaufort, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your family qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
  • Look for your local Beaufort, NC area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guide magazines have money saving offers on nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.

How to choose the best vacation rental in Emerald Isle:

  • Select a group lead, choose your dates, and choose a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. Pebble Beach D-202, Oceanfront Condo in Emerald Isle, NC! has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly available online. Otherwise, contact the property manager before booking your rental. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • Visiting for a single event or attraction? Use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, search for a rental that allows animals. Ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Note that some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your .
  • During check-in, document any issues with the property and immediately contact the property manager. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent a lot of problems.
  • Be respectful. Often, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Lock your rental property while you are away! Don't let crooks ruin your family vacation.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the property to confirm you've collected everything. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the property a final time and look for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, remember to take photos and video of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a fantastic stay? Most rental home management companies make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your property and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
