Beaufort vacation rental tips and tricks:

Finding your perfect rental:

  • Summertime is the most expensive season in the Beaufort, NC area. To book the best vacation home within budget, we strongly suggest reserving in Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite Beaufort, NC restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Beaufort, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during Winter holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some hosts offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer renters an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local Beaufort, NC visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, visitor guide magazines have offers and deals for local accommodations and attractions.

How to pick the perfect rental:

  • Select a designated group leader, choose your vacation dates, and select a spending budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the configuration you need. 2023 townhome with private deck, seasonal pool access, & community dock has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, contact the host before reserving your rental. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to work out what configuration is optimal for your family.
  • If there's an individual Beaufort, NC beach you simply love, keep an eye out for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly vacation rental. Make sure to ask for details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Usually, property managers charge pet deposits and fees.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Add the owner's contact information to your phone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • During arrival, record any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers bothering your peaceful home life. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and places you would've not otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Lock your vacation home while you're out. Protect your property!
  • Double-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed all personal items at departure. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the property a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take photographs of the property to record its condition.
  • Did you have a excellent time? Most rental websites make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property management company was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
