Tricks and tips to get the perfect vacation property experience:

Get the most from your rental budget:

  • The sooner you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked very early. Reserving your vacation home up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
  • June, July, and August are high season in the Beaufort, NC area. Book your rental in Fall or Spring to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
  • Property managers usually offer customers an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Find a copy of your local Beaufort, NC visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitor guides have coupons for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.

How to choose the perfect vacation rental in Atlantic Beach:

  • Select vacation week and spending budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Charming ocean view 2 bedroom condo in welcoming Atlantic Beach, NC has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is usually accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, contact the property owner before you reserve the vacation home. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • Some rentals allow pets, and others don't. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the host about allowable breeds and types before booking.
  • Are you visiting for a specific event or attraction? Use a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

Advice for a wonderful stay:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Save the directions to your phone, and take a printed backup.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Keep the property locked while you're gone! Don't let burglars ruin your vacation.
  • During arrival, make note of any issues with the property and immediately alert the host. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be an incredible source for finding the best local beaches and restaurants.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Just prior to departing, complete a walk-through to make sure you didn't leave anything behind. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your family have a terrific vacation? Many rental managers make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property management company was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
