Booking the best Beaufort, NC rental experience:

Sticking to a rental home budget:

  • The sooner you can book, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked early. Booking your vacation home six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
  • Summer is high season in Emerald Isle. Book your Beaufort, NC rental property in Fall or Spring to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Beaufort, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Some hosts offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family.
  • Booking websites often offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Look for your local Beaufort, NC visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitor guides contain offers and deals for local shops and restaurants.

How to select the perfect rental:

  • Start by choosing a vacation week and a budget.
  • Note the number beds and the configuration your family requires. Exclusive Dolphin Ridge 'Island Time' with private pool and golf cart has 3 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts is normally available online. If they are not listed, email the host before booking your home. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds. You'll need to establish what bed configuration is right for your group.
  • Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Pet fees or charges applied to your invoice.
  • Looking for unique amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking.

Tips for your stay:

  • Get the owner's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home. Put the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, elevator or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents quite a few problems.
  • Keep your rental home locked while you are away! Don't let thieves spoil your trip.
  • Upon check-in, note any issues with the property and immediately contact the property manager. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors bothering your peaceful home life. Use the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Just prior to departing, complete a final walk-through to make sure you did not forget anything. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did you have a wonderful stay? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
