Tips for getting the best rental experience:

Find your best deal:

  • Summer is the most expensive season in Emerald Isle. Booking in the Spring or Fall is our favorite way to save money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable properties.
  • Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Hosts sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
  • Booking websites frequently offer guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
  • Often, property management companies supply Beaufort, NC area visitors guides which often include special deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, NC visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Select a designated group leader, select your dates, and choose a spending budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration you need. Family Beach House Ready for Water Fun! has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed types is usually available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, contact the host before reserving your rental. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to establish what configuration is optimal for your vacation family.
  • If there's a specific Beaufort, NC destination you are enamored with, browse rentals that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental.
  • If your group is bringing pets, search for a rental that allows animals. Make sure to ask for information on breed, size, and type requirements. Be aware that some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Add a note with the directions to your smartphone, and take a printed copy.
  • To ensure that damages are not linked to your visit, inspect for any problem areas during check in. Call the property manager immediately to report your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors bothering your peace and quiet. Use the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and places you would've never otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Keep the property locked while you are out! Don't let thieves spoil your family vacation.
  • Double-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed all belongings at departure. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your group have a wonderful vacation? Most rental managers make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your property and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
