Tips and Tricks to get the best vacation rental experience:

Sticking to a budget:

  • Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal NC. To book the best vacation home within your budget, we strongly suggest reserving in Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at the beach and popular Beaufort, NC attractions. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your family qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Booking websites frequently offer customers an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitor guide magazines contain coupons for nearby tours and attractions.

How to pick the best rental in Emerald Isle:

  • Select dates and maximum budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Family Tides, Almost Oceanfront House in Emerald Isle, NC! has 7 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Beaufort, NC vacation rental search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is commonly available online. If you don't see them listed, contact the host before booking the vacation property. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds. You'll need to establish what configuration is suitable for your trip.
  • Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional pet fees or charges may be applied to your contract.
  • If there's a particular Beaufort, NC attraction you long to visit, keep an eye out for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .

More considerations for your visit:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the instructions to your phone.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent a lot of problems.
  • Keep your rental home locked while you are out! Don't let thieves ruin your holiday.
  • To make sure damages are not attributed to your stay, record any problem areas when you arrive. Get in touch with the property manager immediately to relay any issues. If there is a dispute, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors bothering your peaceful home life. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can usually help. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Double-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all belongings at check-out. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Walk through the rental one final time and look for damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on good ratings to stimulate new reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will will be grateful for your review find their best vacation rental. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
