Tricks and tips to get the optimal Beaufort, NC vacation property experience:

How to get the best rental value:

  • The sooner you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked early. Reserving your rental home 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
  • Summer is the most expensive season in coastal NC. To get the best value, consider shifting your group's vacation to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer warm weather, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer.
  • Some hosts offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Property management companies frequently offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guides have discounts for local tours, shops, and attractions.

Narrow your Search:

  • First, have your group commit to trip dates and a maximum budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Historic Downtown New Bern Condo -2 Bedrooms has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Beaufort, NC rentals search.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly accessible on booking websites. If not, contact the property owner before booking the rental. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds.
  • If your group is bringing pets, search for a rental that allows animals. Request details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Note that some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
  • Looking for particular amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

Tips to have a fantastic stay:

  • Take a copy of the owner's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your .
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Lock your rental home while you are out. Keep your property safe!
  • Upon check-in, document any issues with the property and immediately alert the owner. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Frequently, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • On check-out day, take a walk-through to confirm you have not leave anything behind. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the rental a final time and look for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, ensure that you take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Remember to leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent ratings to stimulate future reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your experience find their best rental home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
