Tricks and tips to get the optimal Beaufort, NC rental experience:

Getting the most from your spending budget:

  • Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer time is high season in the Beaufort, NC area. Book your Beaufort, NC rental in Fall or Spring months to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Beaufort, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
  • Property managers often offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Look for your local Beaufort, NC visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guides have deals for nearby shops and restaurants.

Planning and choosing a perfect Beaufort, NC rental:

  • First, have your group agree to date ranges and a max budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the configuration your family requires. Amazing Atlantic Beach Condo - 2 minute walk to beach has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly accessible online. If they are not listed, email the property owner before you book the rental. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, you will need a pet-friendly vacation rental. Get specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
  • Are you visiting for a specific attraction? Try a map search to find nearby rentals.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking.

During your stay:

  • Add the host's phone number to your smartphone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Keep the property locked while you are away! Don't let thieves spoil your family vacation.
  • Make a record of any damages to the property during check in, and immediately contact the owner. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be useful if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Respect the neighborhood. Frequently, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies is the right thing to do.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected everything. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the property one final time and look for damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did you have a wonderful time? Most rental home management companies make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
