Beaufort, NC rental property booking tips:

When to visit & When to book:

  • To find the best value, consider changing your group's vacation dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer pleasant temperatures, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Beaufort, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer rate reductions for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your group.
  • Property management companies often offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Find a copy of your local Beaufort, NC visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, travel guide magazines have deals for local accommodations, tours and attractions.

Choosing and booking the perfect Beaufort, NC vacation home:

  • Start by selecting vacation dates and a maximum budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the configuration you need. Oceanfront Home in the Perfect Location on Emerald Isle-Dog Friendly has 6 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is almost always available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property manager before you book the property. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to determine which bed configuration is suitable for your trip.
  • If there's a certain Beaufort, NC attraction you love, browse rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking.
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, you must book a rental that allows animals. Request specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.

More tips for your stay:

  • Get the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental.
  • Document any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately send them to the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are useful if there is a dispute.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, intercom or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call prevents many concerns.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers disrupting your quiet neighborhood. Practice the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Lock your rental home while you are away. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the property to confirm you've collected everything. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the property one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Hosts rely on excellent feedback to inspire future bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your feedback find their best rental home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
