How to find the best vacation home experience:

Sticking to your rental home budget:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal NC. Booking your Beaufort, NC vacation rental in the Fall or Spring is our favorite way to save money on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable properties.
  • Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your family qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Property managers usually offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Find a copy of your local Beaufort, NC visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guides have offers and deals for local tours and attractions.

How to choose the best rental home in Pine Knoll Shores:

  • Select your vacation dates and max budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. Oceans #12, Oceanside Condo in Pine Knoll Shores, NC! has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed types is normally accessible online. If not, call the property management company before you reserve the rental. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • Is your group looking for special amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking
  • If your family is bringing pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly rental. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Note that some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.

More tips for your visit:

  • Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home.
  • Upon check-in, record any damages to the property and immediately contact the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, television set or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent lots of concerns.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often a great resource to find the best local beaches and restaurants.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Lock your rental while you are out. Protect your property!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all personal items. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Leave feedback! Hosts rely on great ratings to stimulate new reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
