Strategies to get the best Beaufort, NC vacation property experience:

Get the most from your vacation rental budget:

  • Summer months are high season in the Beaufort, NC area. To find the best value, change your family's Beaufort, NC trip dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer warmer temperatures, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Beaufort, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your family qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Booking websites usually offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Beaufort, NC area travel guides that include special deals, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, NC area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Planning, selecting, and booking your prefect Beaufort, NC vacation home:

  • Begin by choosing your potential vacation weeks and a spending budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. Sea Salt - Classic Atlantic Beach home - perfect vacation location! has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is often available on booking pages. If not, email or call the property management company before you reserve your home. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches. You'll need to determine what bed configuration is suitable for your trip.
  • Are you visiting for a specific event or attraction? Use a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking.
  • Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Additional pet fees or may be applied to your contract.

Some things to know before you go:

  • Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental. We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • To make certain that no damages are attributed to your family's visit, make note of any problem areas during arrival. Speak to the property manager right away to relay any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors bothering your peace. Use the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property when you are away, just like you would at home.
  • Double-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items on check-out day. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, ensure that you take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a fantastic stay? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
