Strategies to get the best rental experience:

Money saving strategies:

  • In the Beaufort, NC area, The sooner you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are booked very early. Booking your vacation rental up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
  • Book your vacation home in Fall or Spring to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your family qualifies for a special rate.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Look for your local Beaufort, NC visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, visitors guide magazines contain offers and deals for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.

How to pick the perfect vacation home:

  • First and foremost, have your group agree to vacation dates and a maximum budget.
  • Gameroom
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, reach out to the property manager before booking the vacation home. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to establish which bed configuration is best for your family.
  • If your family is traveling with pets, you must book a rental that allows animals. Request information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Often, property managers charge additional pet fees.
  • Visiting for a specific attraction or event? Use a map search to find nearby rentals.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking.

During your stay:

  • Take a copy of the owner's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home.
  • Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Lock your rental home while you are out and about. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • To ensure that no damages are linked to your stay, inspect for any problem areas when you arrive. Get in touch with the host immediately to relay your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be an excellent resource to find the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can often help. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Upon check-out, complete a walk-through to make sure you did not forget any personal items. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Leave feedback! Property managers rely on good feedback to compel future reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
