Our top Atlantic Beach vacation rental booking tips and tricks:

Money saving strategies:

  • In the Beaufort, NC area, The sooner you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best properties are booked early. Booking your vacation rental six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
  • Summer is the most expensive season along the coast of NC. Booking a rental in Fall or Spring months is a great way to save on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Beaufort, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer renters an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Beaufort, NC area visitor guides which will include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, NC visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Use filters to narrow your search:

  • Choose your dates and budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your group needs. High Cotton Cottage has 7 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is almost always accessible online. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property owner before you book the rental. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, and others do not. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the host about pet restrictions before booking.
  • If there's a particular Beaufort, NC attraction you long to visit, keep an eye out for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. .

Additional considerations:

  • Take a copy of the property manager's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are out, just like you would back home.
  • Note any issues with the property upon arrival, and immediately send them to the host. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be useful if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor. Often, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can often help. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all belongings. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Leave feedback! Property owners rely on excellent ratings to stimulate future reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
