Tips and Tricks to get the perfect Beaufort, NC vacation property experience:

Get the most from your vacation rental budget:

  • Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer is high season in Atlantic Beach. To find the most suitable rental within budget, we strongly suggest booking in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at Beaufort, NC restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months.
  • Hosts sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Property management companies frequently offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Look for your local Beaufort, NC visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guide magazines contain discounts for nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

How to choose and book a perfect Beaufort, NC rental:

  • To start, have your family choose a vacation week and a budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. High Cotton Cottage has 7 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts is usually available online. If not, reach out to the property owner before you book your home. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to determine what configuration is right for your vacation family.
  • Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Pet fees or charges may be applied to your invoice.
  • Visiting for a single event? Try a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

During your stay:

  • Be sure you get the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your .
  • Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property while you are away, just like you would back home.
  • To make sure no damages are linked to your family's stay, record any problem areas when you arrive. Get in touch with the property manager immediately to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a fantastic resource to find the best local beaches and hangouts.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually help. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Just prior to departing, complete a walk-through to confirm you did not forget anything. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the property a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the host isn't available, ensure that you take pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a great stay? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your rental and/or property management company was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
