Our top Beaufort, NC vacation rental home tips and tricks:

When to reserve a Beaufort, NC rental home & When to go:

  • Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is our best tip for saving money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Booking websites typically offer guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
  • Often, property management companies supply Beaufort, NC area travel guide magazines which often include special deals, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

How to choose the perfect vacation home:

  • Select a group lead, select your dates, and choose a budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Summer Winds A-416, Almost Oceanfront Condo in Indian Beach, NC! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Beaufort, NC vacation rental search.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always available on booking websites. If they are not listed, email or call the property owner before you reserve the vacation home. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to work out what configuration is best for your vacation.
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional fees or may be applied to your agreement.
  • Is your group looking for specific amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking.

Additional considerations:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Save the directions to your smartphone, and take a printed copy.
  • Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the property when you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • Record any issues with the property upon arrival, and immediately contact the host. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be valuable if a dispute is filed.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often an excellent source for finding the best local spots.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Re-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed all personal items on check-out day. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Walk through the rental a final time and scan for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Property owners rely on excellent feedback to stimulate new bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
