Booking the best Atlantic Beach rental home experience:

Get the most from your budget:

  • June, July, and August are high season in Atlantic Beach. To find the largest rental home within your budget, we highly recommend booking in the Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite Beaufort, NC restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season.
  • The earlier you can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are reserved early. Booking your rental up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
  • Some property management companies offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your family.
  • Property managers frequently offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Look for your local Beaufort, NC area magazine upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guides have discounts for local tours, shops, and attractions.

Filter your search:

  • To start, have your family agree to vacation dates and a spending budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. Sward Shack: 4 BR, 3.5 BA Townhouse in Atlantic Beach, Sleeps 9 has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly accessible online. If not, call the property management company before reserving your home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches.
  • Visiting for a single attraction? Use a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, and some do not. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the host about allowable pet guidelines before booking.

More tips for your stay:

  • Take a copy of the host's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home. Put the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • To make certain no damages are attributed to your family's stay, inspect for any problem areas during check in. text the property manager immediately to relay any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be respectful. Often times, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are away, just like you would at home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the property to confirm you've collected all personal items. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, remember to take photos and video of the property to record its condition.
  • Did you have a fantastic time? Most rental websites make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your rental and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
