Tips and Tricks to get the best Emerald Isle rental home experience:

Getting the best rental value:

  • Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer time is high season in the Beaufort, NC area. Reserve your rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Beaufort, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Property managers typically offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Many property management companies supply Beaufort, NC area travel guides which will include special offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, NC visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Use filters to narrow your search:

  • Choose a designated group leader, select your trip dates, and select a budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. The Lookout at Queens Court has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Beaufort, NC vacation rental search.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is often accessible online. If you don't see them listed, call the property manager before you reserve the home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds.
  • Some properties allow pets, and others do not. Acceptable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the host about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
  • If there's a specific Beaufort, NC destination you love, look for properties that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking.

During your stay:

  • Get the host's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental. We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone.
  • Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Keep your rental home locked while you're out! Don't let burglars ruin your trip.
  • Make a record of any damages to the property at check in, and immediately contact the owner. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be helpful if there is a dispute.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be an excellent source for finding the best local beaches and restaurants.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the property to confirm you've collected all of your things. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the property one final time and look for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the manager is not available, remember to take video of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a wonderful stay? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your property and/or property manager was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
