Our top Pine Knoll Shores vacation rental tips and tricks:

Cost saving strategies:

  • In the Beaufort, NC area, The earlier you can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked early. Reserving your rental 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
  • To find the best value, shift your vacation to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer pleasant weather, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Beaufort, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your family.
  • Booking websites typically offer customers an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
  • Many property management companies supply Beaufort, NC area travel guide magazines which often include special offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, NC visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Planning and choosing the rightvacation home:

  • Select vacation week and maximum budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. Seacluded Tree House, Oceanfront House in Pine Knoll Shores, NC! has 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often available on booking websites. Otherwise, reach out to the property management company before reserving the vacation property. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches. You will need to work out what is suitable for your vacation family.
  • Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional fees or charges could be applied to your invoice.
  • If there's a certain Beaufort, NC attraction you simply love, browse homes that are either nearby, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Be sure you get the host's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property. Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property while you are gone, just like you would back home.
  • Note any issues with the rental during check in, and immediately contact the host. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be useful if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Respect the neighborhood. Often times, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all personal items. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did you have a excellent time? Most rental management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your rental and/or property manager was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
