Our top Emerald Isle rental booking tips and tricks:

When to visit & When to reserve a rental home:

  • The earlier you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are reserved very early. Reserving your rental home up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
  • To find the largest vacation home within your budget, we strongly suggest reserving in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at the beach and popular attractions. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Beaufort, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your family qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Property managers frequently offer guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Beaufort, NC area visitor guides that include special offers, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, NC area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

How to choose the best rental home in the Beaufort, NC area:

  • Choose your dates and max budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Well maintained 4 bed\/4 bath house in quiet area has 4 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is normally accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, call the property manager before you book the vacation property. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly property. Make sure to ask for information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Note that some hosts charge additional pet fees.
  • Are you visiting for a single attraction or event? If so, use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking.

Have a wonderful stay:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the directions to your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, elevator or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent a lot of difficulties.
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are out, just like you would at home.
  • To make sure no damages are attributed to your family's visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas during arrival. Contact the property manager immediately to record any issues. If there is a dispute, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are a great source for finding the best local beaches and restaurants.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Just before checking out, complete a final walk-through to make sure you haven't forget anything. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the host isn't available, remember to take photos and video of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a wonderful vacation? Many rental websites make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your rental and/or property management company was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
