Tips and Tricks for getting the perfect Beaufort, NC vacation rental experience:

Find your perfect rental home:

  • The sooner your group can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are reserved early. Booking your rental property up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
  • Reserve your Beaufort, NC rental home in Fall or Spring to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Beaufort, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Property management companies usually offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Find a copy of your local Beaufort, NC area magazine upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guides contain discounts for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.

Use filters to narrow your search:

  • Start by choosing your vacation dates and a spending budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the configuration you need. Conch Inn, Oceanfront Duplex in Emerald Isle, NC! has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally available on booking websites. If not, reach out to the property management company before booking the rental. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches. You'll need to establish what is optimal for your vacation group.
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly vacation rental. Ask for details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Note that some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
  • If there's a certain Beaufort, NC beach you love, look for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

Some things to know before you go:

  • We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent quite a few difficulties.
  • Lock your rental property while you're out! Don't let thieves ruin your trip.
  • During arrival, note any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors bothering your peace and quiet. Use the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • When it's time to leave, complete a walk-through to make sure you didn't forget anything. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental a final time and scan for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take photographs of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a excellent stay? Most rental managers make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
